Woodgrain Workshop is able to work with you to design and build bespoke wooden fixtures for your house such as doors, door surrounds and skirting, and other permanent installations. As with kitchens, the selection of wood can be from new or reclaimed sources, and the components can be supplied independently or installed with finishing and furniture.

Doors, surrounds, skirting

Ledge and ledge/brace doors are screwed, glued and plugged for maximum integrity and aesthetics and ledge, brace and frame doors are doweled. Doors can be made from new or reclaimed oak or pine to suit the characteristics of your home.

Skirting can also be provided in new or reclaimed wood and milled to the profile of your choice. The installation is screwed and plugged as opposed to gluing so that the skirting can be removed again if necessary for redecoration or other needs.

Built-in bookshelves

Bookshelves not only provide a place to display your library of books but they also soften a room and can give it added depth. In some rooms they can convert an otherwise unusable corner into a beautiful design feature. The selection of wood is very dependent on the environment and lighting in which they are to be installed, as is the mode of construction.

Bookshelves can be built using a variety of newly sourced or reclaimed timber or, if painting is requested, they can be constructed using sheet materials.

Woodgrain Workshop offers woodworking services as a joiner for Newport and the rest of the Isle of Wight. Being a small business, it carries few overheads and therefore offers extremely competitive pricing that represents great value for money.
